More Than Great Entertainment: How GOOD Cares for Our Viewers Beyond the Screen

BY: GOOD.

At GOOD, we love sharing uplifting movies, inspiring documentaries and encouraging programs that bring hope into homes across Australia. But sometimes, hope needs to be more than something you watch—it needs to be something you experience.

Every day, we hear from viewers whose lives have been touched by the stories on GOOD. Some write to share how a program encouraged them through a difficult season. Others reach out with questions about faith or ask for prayer. And sometimes, people contact us because they’re carrying a burden that’s simply too heavy to bear alone.

In those moments, we know that what someone needs isn’t just another television program. They need someone to listen.

That’s why, along with our in-house prayer team, GOOD partners with Careline Connections, a national Christian care ministry that provides compassionate, confidential support to people who are hurting, lonely or searching for hope. Staffed by trained volunteers, Careline offers a safe place where people can talk through life’s challenges, receive encouragement and, if they wish, be prayed for by someone who genuinely cares.

For many viewers, taking that first step to reach out isn’t easy. But knowing there’s a caring voice on the other end of the phone can make all the difference.

At GOOD, our role isn’t to provide professional counselling. Instead, we’re grateful to be able to connect viewers with a trusted ministry that has been faithfully supporting Australians for decades. Whether someone is navigating grief, relationship struggles, anxiety, loneliness or simply needs someone to talk to, Careline offers a compassionate listening ear and practical encouragement.

It’s a partnership that reflects something we deeply believe: positive media can change lives, but caring relationships change lives too.

This commitment to caring for people is part of the heart of GOOD. We don’t simply want to provide wholesome entertainment; we want to point people towards hope, encouragement and community. Every email we answer, every prayer request we receive and every person we connect with Careline is a reminder that behind every screen is a real person with a unique story.

If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, please remember that you don’t have to face it alone. Help is available, and there are people who genuinely want to listen.

Because at GOOD, our mission has always been about more than what’s on the screen. It’s about bringing hope into homes – and sometimes that hope begins with a simple conversation.
