What did you think of WHEN CALLS THE HEART S13 Ep11?
If there was ever an episode designed to keep Aussie Hearties on the edge of their seats, Trials and Trails and Tribulations was it. From the opening moments, there was a sense that something big was coming.
As Anna predicted before the episode even began, it was “building up for an amazing episode”, and by the end of the hour it was hard to disagree.
So what did everyone have to say? What did you think of season 13 episode 11?
The excitement in the comments started well before the opening credits rolled. Tracy counted down the final five minutes, Joy announced there were only three minutes to go, Wen reminded us there was just one minute left, and then suddenly it was time. “Here. We. Go,” declared Tracy as the episode began.
Flowers, Harvest Festivals and Suspicious Behaviour
The episode opened with Nathan picking flowers for Elizabeth.
“Picking Flowers!” noted Emily immediately.
“Aah, Elizabeth’s favourite flowers are in bloom!” added Wen.
The romantic atmosphere wasn’t lost on anyone, especially with Nathan clearly up to something.
“Making plans!” Emily observed.
“The perfect moment ๐” replied Joy.
Of course, Nathan’s attempts at secrecy weren’t fooling anyone.
“Nathan is a dreadful liar ๐๐๐ guess it’s the Mountie in him,” laughed Kelly Watson.
Meanwhile, Emily pointed out that “The flowers are ready for the harvest festival lol”, setting up one of the episode’s key community events.

Waffles, Georgie and the Morning Before Court
Before the trial began, viewers were delighted by Bill and Georgie’s breakfast scene.
“Bill cooked Georgie breakfast, aaaw!” wrote Wen.
“Hmmm waffles. I want some now,” admitted Tracy.
“Don’t drop the waffles Georgie lol,” warned Joy.
“Needs some icecream,” suggested Tracy.
And honestly, Tracy might have had a point.

LJ Wants To Be One Of The Big Kids
Elsewhere, LJ had his sights set on adventure.
“The boys are on an adventure and LJ wants to go too,” Emily reported.
“LJ wants to hike with the big kids,” said Wen.
“LJ wants to run with the pack,” she later added.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite as planned.
“Aww poor LJ,” wrote Joy.
“LJ wants to go and is very disappointed,” observed Emily.
His storyline clearly struck a chord with viewers who remembered what it felt like to be the youngest and left behind. It made for a lovely ‘dad’ moment for Nathan though as he promised more achievable adventures. Would that be enough for LJ though?

Court Is In Session
Then it was time for the moment everyone had been waiting for.
“The trial is on today,” Emily announced.
“Court is in session,” said Tracy.
“Go Bill!” cheered Joy.
Bill’s opening statement impressed viewers straight away.
“Great, emotive opening from Bill. About dreams being destroyed,” wrote Wen.
But the defence wasn’t about to make things easy.
“They seem a tough bunch to try and beat,” noted Emily.
“Yep, a fraudulent map,” spotted Joy as evidence began to be challenged.
Nathan’s frustration became increasingly obvious.
“Nathan’s frustrated,” observed Wen.
“It will be a fight to get there,” predicted Emily.
As Bill reminded everyone to “stick to provable facts”, the tension only increased.
Rosemary Loves Every Minute Of It
If anyone was enjoying themselves, it was Rosemary.
“Rosemary as a journalist for the trial,” Emily noted.
“Rosemary in her absolute element on the stand,” added Wen.
Kelly couldn’t stop laughing at “Rosemary and her finger snap and head nod ๐๐๐๐”.
Some things never change.
Everyone Knows What The Trial Needs
As the case continued, viewers reached the same conclusion.
“They need Christopher,” said Emily.
“Henry to try?” she suggested moments later.
When Henry decided to broadcast a message over the radio, viewers immediately sensed it was the right move.
“Genius move for Henry to appeal to Christopher over the airwaves,” wrote Wen.
“Aww Henry such a good man,” said Kelly.
“A lovely message from Henry to Christopher,” added Emily.
When Henry referenced Abigail’s forgiveness, emotions ran high.
“He is talking about Abigail,” Kelly pointed out.
“He’s talking about Abigail forgiving him ๐ฅน,” wrote Tracy.
“Just beautiful!” said Joy.

Christopher Arrives
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
As the defence attempted to blame a campfire, Wen wrote, “Ooh he’s trying to blame the camp-fire now!”
Then suddenly:
“YES!!!!” posted Wen.
“Yay Christopher!” shouted Kelly.
“And there he is!!!” celebrated Tracy.

“Christopher!” wrote Joy.
“Here is Christopher!” added Emily.
Most importantly:
“He has the transformer!” Emily announced.
“Finally! The truth is out,” wrote Wen.

Hope Valley Wins
Once Christopher’s evidence was revealed, the outcome felt inevitable.
“Celebrations!!” posted Wen.
“He has his verdict,” Emily reported.
“The town won!”
“Thankyou for coming back to save the day Christopher.”
After weeks of waiting, Hope Valley finally got justice.
Romance… And More Waiting
With the trial behind them, attention quickly shifted back to Nathan and Elizabeth.
“A dinner date invitation,” Emily noted.

Awww ๐ฅฐ kissy face,” wrote Kelly as Bill and Georgie celebrated their own relationship milestone.
“Woohoo, big kiss from Georgie!” added Wen.
But not everyone was happy.
“Joseph won’t forgive Christopher,” observed Emily.
Kelly was disappointed too, writing: “Disappointed in the pastor preaching about forgiveness but won’t show it towards Christopher.”
Meanwhile Nathan’s proposal plans continued.
“Oooo Nathan frustrated at the stove lol,” laughed Emily.
“Will they be interrupted?” she wondered.
Unfortunately, she already knew the answer.

Some nice wine, and Elizabeth gets ‘the good plate’.

Romantic true confessions…

Just when things were getting super romantic…. Allie bursts in the door… LJ is stuck up a tree!!

Poor LJ
Just when everything seemed ready for the proposal everyone had been waiting for…
“LJ is in trouble!” posted Emily.
“๐ interrupted,” replied Tracy.
Thankfully the crisis was short-lived.
“LJ is safe,” Emily reassured everyone.
Still, his feelings were understandable.
“Poor LJ. Feeling left out and behind from the other boys.”

New Growth
One of the episode’s most moving scenes came near the end.
“Henry showing Christopher new growth in the burnt forest, speaking about receiving redemption the right way,” wrote Wen.
Emily connected deeply with the moment.
“I love how the bush or forest generates after a fire. Especially after the ones I’ve been through. Just seeing the new life makes you feel the new life coming through.”
It was a beautiful reflection on the episode’s central theme: renewal after loss.

One More Week
As the episode wound down, everyone was focused on one thing.
“Elizabeth knows!!!” Tracy exclaimed.
“Poor Allie waiting very patiently for this moment,” added Emily.
“Another dinner date tomorrow.”

Surely now? Allie sure thought so.
“Over already??” asked Tracy.
Nope.
“Noooooo!” cried Wen.
“Aww its over! Just 1 more to go!” wrote Emily.
“They’re making us wait another week!! ๐ฉ๐ง” complained Stephanie McBurney.
Wen summed up what everyone was thinking:
“It’s all going to happen in final episode!”
After everything that happened in Trials and Trails and Tribulations, Aussie Hearties everywhere will be hoping she’s right.
