What did you think of WHEN CALLS THE HEART S13 Ep3?

It might have been Good Friday evening, but the Aussie Hearties were back for Episode 3 of Season 13 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART! This follow-up episode to the terrible fire that destroyed neighbouring Benson Hills was one of strong emotions as Hope Valley’s visitors struggled to come to terms with losing their homes and community. There were some passionate responses to the situation they’re all facing. And we loved it! A great way to start the Easter long weekend. 💛

So what did you have to say? What did you think of season 13 episode 3? On a quiet Good Friday night, it might have been “a quiet night,” but Emily and Wen made sure the WHEN CALLS THE HEART episode “Back to School” was anything but! 💬✨

Right from the start, the excitement was real:
“Here we go!” — Emily 🙌

Both were especially curious about the bigger picture:
“I’m very interested to see what happens to all the displaced folk from Benson Hills!” — Wen
“Me too!” — Emily 👀

As the episode opened, Elizabeth’s nerves were front and centre:
“Elizabeth is anxious for the first day of school.” — Emily 🍎📚

But there were sweet little touches too:
“Aaw, lovely flowers!” — Wen 🌸

Of course, not everything was perfect…
“You could see it was not straight with the blackboard lol.” — Emily 😂

Gwendolyn didn’t make the best impression early on:
“Gwendolyn not grateful.” — Emily 😬

And poor Elizabeth was left feeling at a bit of a loss as to how to make the Benson Hills kids feel welcome and settled in Hope Valley.

But she and Nathan came up with a great plan while watching the kids playing together.

“What a sweet scene with the young playing and the parents watching and chatting” — Emily ❤️
“There’s nothing more community than outdoor games!” — Wen

Meanwhile… Molly thinks she may have witnessed something and now Lee is really up in arms!

Has McGinty got Lee right where he wants him now?? It never pays to get hot under the collar Lee!!

“Ooo don’t cause trouble Lee.” — Emily
“Oooo Lee be careful. Don’t cause trouble.” — Emily (again 😂)
“Did Lee give McGinty flat beer?” — Emily 🍺😅

Nathan has no choice but to lock Lee up to cool down.

But he’s not there long. Back at home, Lee’s storyline took a turn:
“Lee is home.” — Emily
“I need time to myself. Did you not have enough time in jail.” — Emily 😳

But then came one of the most touching moments:
“What a sweet moment with Lee and Gwendolyn.” — Emily ❤️

A bit of a breakthrough with Gwendolyn.

“This girl obviously spent lots of time with her Dad” — Wen

Time for an afternoon stroll for E and N.

“Love that scene walking with the light.” — Emily ✨
“It’s beautiful” — Wen 😍
“Very playful!!” — Wen 😄
“That’s more like it!” — Wen 🙌
“Yep and exactly” — Emiy

Then… a confession we didn’t see coming.

“What’s wrong with the boys?” — Emily 😟
“Ooo what’s wrong boys.” — Emily
“Uh oh!!” — Wen 😬
“Oh dear the poor boys.” — Emily 💔
“Elizabeth is so supportive” — Wen

Then suddenly… it was over 😭
“Aww it’s over!” — Emily
“Nooooo! I want more!!” — Wen 😩
“Me too!” — Emily 😂

Even on a quieter night, the energy between them kept everything alive:
“Thank you for joining me tonight. I would have been lonely if you didn’t come lol.” — Emily 🫶
“Same!!! 😁” — Wen

And of course, priorities:
“I can’t wait for the newsletter tomorrow.” — Emily 📰✨

A sweet, slightly chaotic, emotional episode — made even better by Emily and Wen reacting every step of the way 😁🫶❤️🤣
