What did you think of WHEN CALLS THE HEART S13 Ep5?

The Aussie Hearties’ chat was alive with excitement as WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 13 Episode 5 ‘Growing Pains’ unfolded — and the Aussie Hearties themselves were there to make sure they captured all the action. 😄🫶

So what did everyone have to say? What did you think of season 13 episode 5? Between the fire mystery heating up, Lee giving us a genuine scare, and Elizabeth casually shaping the future with her students, this episode somehow balanced small-town charm with surprisingly high stakes.

If this episode proved anything, it’s that Hope Valley might be small, but the emotions are HUGE 😭❤️ — and our watch party felt every second of it.

We kicked things off with pure excitement, with Emily calling it early:

“I know we are in for a good episode tonight.”

And moments later…

“And we’re off!”Sharon 🚂

Growing up hits HARD 😭
Little Jack (sorry… LJ 🙄) had everyone emotional, especially Emily:

“He will always be Little Jack to me.”

While Sharon added:

“A big moment for his mum.”

And the growing pains didn’t stop there — Nathan’s struggles had everyone feeling it:

“What’s wrong with Nathan?”Emily
“Having a tough time letting Allie grow up.”Sharon

Cue the collective heartbreak 🥺

In other family news, Henry seems so happy getting to know Christopher and is tickled pink with Christopher’s engagement news and his request to deliver the wedding speech.

Elsewhere in town…

Mystery + Mud = Trouble 👀
Oliver and Toby are late for school,

“Suspicious mud – where have those boys been!”Sharon

And at the wildfire site, Nathan, Bill and Oliver find something that doesn’t seem to belong.

The fire investigation had the chat buzzing.

“What have they found and is it important?”Sharon

Lucas & Edie = awkward → adorable 🥰
The chat did NOT miss a beat here:

“Edie and Lucas so awkward.”Sharon 😬
“Lucas trying to prove his worth…”

Meanwhile Bill and Nathan are asking Henry about the ‘burnt concrete’. He reports they never used anything like that in the mines so they’re none the wiser. But by the end of the episode Henry is suspicious too when he finds some in Christopher’s car! Just before Christopher speeds off into the distance! Why is he in such a hurry?

And this sweet moment with Oliver telling Allie everything he knows about dinosaurs… very sweet. But Nathan saw red!

Oliver copped a lecture back at the mountie headquarters and once again everyone is left wondering why Nathan is so upset.

Meanwhile at the Coulter’s, Lee has made a great pitch and has the contract. Gwen shares an adorable picture she’s drawn of her house. She’s still struggling.

But is it all too much?

Lee = STRESSED 😰
We all felt the tension building:

“Overstretched much Lee?”Sharon
“Oh no what’s happening, Lee.”

And then relief (sort of):

“Not a heart attack thank goodness… but yes very stressed!!”

Seriously… someone book Lee a holiday 🏖️

Then, back in town, Flo hands Molly a very large envelope…which receives no explanation, but then this scene had everyone talking.

Molly summed up Edie and Lucas’ ‘relationship’ with this banger:

The furniture moving does not go all that smoothly…

But we all love a friends reference.

“Pivot!!! Friends reference anyone?”Sharon 😂

“Pivot!”

Ouch!

This fun little segment, certainly had us laughing and loving Edie and Lucas’ growing connection.

And finally there’s some real honesty between them.

“Why does Lucas saying bonk on the head make me laugh so much”Kelly

“Ah finally someone breaks the ice…”Sharon

And by the end, Kelly summed it up perfectly:

“Lucas and Edie are so cute 🥰”

It’s dinner time and Nathan is waiting, and stirring, and waiting, and fuming. Allie’s in for it now.

And he doesn’t handle it that well.

But by morning all is forgiven, and after some wise counsel from Elizabeth, Nathan knows Allie is in good hands – with herself! And with Oliver too.

Elizabeth = shaping the future 🌲✨
This storyline really landed with everyone:

“Elizabeth shows them they aren’t on their own.”Emily
“The kids planting the future and growing a legacy.”Sharon

And suddenly, it became something bigger:

“Their little planting has grown into a massive project!”Sharon

Hope Valley = community goals 💚

And Joseph gets the quote of the show that says what we all know: Sometimes GOOD ripples out. Thanks Jospeh, we might have to use that in a promo.

Final thoughts 💥
By the end, we were all feeling it:

“Awww it’s over. Too soon.”Emily
“Ohh big episode!!!”Sharon

And maybe the most Hope Valley moment of all:

“Whole town helping out.”Emily ❤️

Between emotional growth, mystery twists, a Lee scare, and some genuinely sweet moments, GROWING PAINS delivered everything we love about the show — heart, humour, and that strong sense of community.
