With the finale of season 13 upon us and (spoiler alert!) the happy and much awaited advancement of an 8 season long relationship in a very romantic and spectacular fashion, we thought we’d take a look at some of the most romantic moments in 13 years of WHEN CALLS THE HEART.

This GOOD favourite series has captured the hearts of its viewers with its heartfelt storytelling, charming characters, and, of course, its romantic moments. Join us as we count down the top 10 romantic moments from the series that have left us swooning and sighing. Will we be adding another to this list after the season 13 finale?

10. Elizabeth and Jack’s Dinner Date


One of the earliest romantic moments, Elizabeth and Jack’s dinner date was filled with sweet tension and promise. Their chemistry was undeniable as they shared a tender moment on the dance floor.

9. Lucas Surprises Elizabeth with a Library


Lucas Bouchard won hearts when he surprised Elizabeth with a beautifully restored library. His thoughtful gesture was not just romantic but also showed his understanding of her passion for reading and education.

8. Rosemary and Lee’s Wedding

After a mine collapse and Jack being injured, it seemed to be a week of disasters. But all was forgotten as everyone came together for the wedding of Rosemary and Lee, a joyous occasion filled with love and celebration. Clara and Jesse’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of young love, filled with hope and promise for the future. Their vows and the festivities were heartwarming and joyous.

The picnic date is a WCTH favourite and Elizabeth and Jack’s row-boat picnic date was a sweet and simple moment that encapsulates their growing attraction and feelings for one another. With a beautiful landscape as their backdrop, they share laughter, dreams, and moment of intimacy away from the town’s hustle and bustle. Of course there was a spider, frightening the still nervous city girl Elizabeth into Jack’s arms.

When Nathan and Elizabeth finally share their true feelings for each other, it’s a moment of heartfelt confession and deep connection, revealing the powerful bond they’ve built over time. Their first kiss is filled with a tender mix of surprise and longing, capturing the culmination of their deep emotional journey and the promise of new beginnings.

There were so many to chose from, that a top ten was very tricky… sooo many E & J moments, Mike and Mei’s romance, Abigail and Pastor Frank, Lucas and Elizabeth’s rainy picnic and that steamy car scene, Ned and Florence! And Bill and Georgie! Each of these moments has brought us closer to the characters and their stories.
